Holiday cottage in the foothills of Cader Idris
- In the foothills of Cader Idris (Wales' second highest mountain) this ancient barn has been carefully restored and is now a luxurious holiday home.
- Beautifully appointed throughout, the partly open plan ground floor has a luxury kitchen and an ‘L’ shaped leather corner sofa in lounge area. A step down leads into the smart dining area with patio doors opening onto grounds.
- The en suite bedroom has French doors opening onto a balcony with decking – perfect for morning coffee with the sun rising behind Cader Idris.
- The garden can be reached via a wooden staircase from the upstairs balcony and patio windows from downstairs with a choice of tables & chairs for al fresco dining.
Dolgellau
- The handsome dark stoned market town of Dolgellau has a good range of local amenities including bank, post office, cafe with wi fi, chemist, doctors surgery, vet, interesting independent local shops, good restaurants and a filling station. A country market is held every Thurday morning in the Free Library and a Farmers Market is held every third Sunday morning on Eldon Square - great for stocking up on excellent local produce.
Cader Idris, One of top 10 walks in Britain & Mawddach Estuary Trail
- Far away from the modern world this is wonderful walking country with sublime scenery. The owners have compiled a portfolio of walks - one of the walks from the cottage is considered to be one of the top ten most beautiful walks in Britain.
- Enjoy the Mawddach Estuary Trail, either on foot or bicycle where there are 2 RSPB cells and fine walks through oak woodlands.
Fairbourne Golf Club near Cadir Idris holiday cottage
- Fairbourne has a long unspoilt beach with the backdrop of Snowdonia and Aberdovey and its colourful seafront houses and fine sandy beach fringed by dunes with a superb golf course behind, are both a pleasant drive away.
Coed y Brenin Forest Centre
- Coed y Brenin Forest Centre, famous for its world class mountain biking trails, woodland walks, Visitors Centre and Café is a short drive away.
Harlech, Criccieth, Caernarfon & Beaumaris Castles
- No fewer than four magnificent castles, each with its own story to tell, within easy reach of this holiday cottage.
Portmeirion & Harlech Theatre
- Portmeirion designed by Sir Clough-Williams Ellis a picturesque Italianate village with lovely riverside walk, a number of interesting and individual shops, do look out for Portmeirion Pottery and a choice of places to eat and drink.
- Discover a world of music, drama and dance at Harlech Theatre.
Corris Railway and Museum, Bistro Barmouth & Bron Eifon Fishing Lakes
- The first narrow gauge railway in Mid Wales built in 1859 as a 2'3" horse hauled tram-road.
- The Bistro in Barmouth is an award winning restaurant which uses fresh local produce whenever possible.
- Enjoy a days coarse fishing at Bron Eifon Fishing Lakes in Criccieth. The lakes are stocked with carp, tench, bream, orf, roach, gudgeon, chub and barbel.
Dolmelynllyn Gardens
- Keen gardeners will enjoy exploring the many features of Dolmelyllyn Gardens including park, lake, woodland, formal garden, kitchen garden and a walk. The 16th C house is now a hotwl where morning coffee is served and lunch by arrangement.
