Mawddach Estuary holiday home
On the beautiful ever-changing tidal waterscape of the Mawddach Estuary, the original structure and oak beams of an ancient barn has been carefully preserved by the architect owner to create 5 new homes. Quality Cottages has the pleasure of letting one of them. The contemporary ‘L’ shaped ground floor is light and airy with white walls, oak floors and simple black leather sofas. Light floods into the wide stairwell from a large roof window and the white bedrooms and bathroom are brightened with lime green cushions and lamps.

Cycle or walk along the Mawddach Trail through oak woodlands where there are 2 RSPB cells, superb scenery and in the springtime pied flycatchers, woodwarblers and redstarts can be seen and heard. Walk up to the remote Cregennan Lakes past Arthog Falls and to Cader Idris ( Wales’s second highest peak ). Fairbourne Beach is nearby and in Coed y Brenin Forest there are walks, cycle paths and a Visitors Centre with café. The Centre of Alternative Technology with plenty of environmentally friendly tips is close to Machynlleth and children will love King Arthur’s Labyrinth nearby but keep it for wet days! Aberdyfi, an easy drive away, is a pretty and prosperous town, lovely beaches and renowned golf course – do try the homemade ice cream at the Pink House.

2 Bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 4 plus cot, 1 double with king size bed and, 1 twin both on 1st floor.
Bedlinen provided.
Bathroom on 1st floor with full suite and shower over bath.
Lounge/dining/kitchen 2 x 2 seater leather sofas, tv/dvd, cd/radio, oak floors, circular dining table seating 4, plus high chairs. Fully fitted well appointed kitchen area with split level electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer.
Fuel under floor oil central heating inclusive May to September, £25 per week outside these dates.
Grounds small grassed unenclosed area near quiet road – please take care. Wooden table and bright canvas chairs to enjoy tranquil views.
