  • Caldey has been a holy island since Celtic times. Cistercian monks have lived and worked on this beautiful island for 1000 years. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the lovely beaches, stroll through the countryside and visit parts of the Grade II listed abbey. The monks farm the land, produce perfume, shortbread and chocolate all of which are for sale in the island shop. Boat trips to the island can be arranged on the harbourside at Tenby.

  • Carew Castle & Tidal Mill
  • A beautiful and substantial ruin, this castle is a mixture of Elizabethan fancy and defensive necessity. The grounds provide an ideal spot for picnics and is a venue for exciting events such as historical enactments and jousting festivals. The tidal mill is the only restored one of its kind in Wales. Drop in at the old Carew Inn for a bite to eat. Families are welcome.

  • Laugharne is a pretty waterside village made famous by the author and poet Dylan Thomas. There is a substantial castle to explore as well as individual shops and places to eat and drink including Browns a favourite haunt of Dylan Thomas.Laugharne is believed to have been his inspiration for the town Llareggub in 'Under Milk Wood'.Dylan Thomas with his wife Caitlin and three children lived in the Boathouse from 1949-1953. It is now a museum dedicated to Dylan's life and work.
